FAQ

We’re here to help answer your most pressing questions so you’re ready to see your event dreams realized!

  • We, of course, love to do weddings but also absolutely LOVE doing strategic events, team building workshops, and galas for our corporate partners and other social events like birthdays, anniversaries, showers, and even bachelorette planning!

  •  You tell me! If you are the kind of person that loves to research, obsesses over the details, and has hours of enjoyment combing through Pinterest and Instagram for ideas, you may not a good candidate for planning. If that sounds like your worst nightmare, we may be the best money you spend on your event! We love to work with clients that are looking for expertise and the ability to help streamline the planning process. If you are loving planning on your own, we recommend you consider our Day-Of services so you can hand off the details and logistics management and enjoy your event on the big day!

  • We suggest you consider the following question to help you identify your planning and management needs:

    1. How much time do you have to fit event planning into your day-to-day schedule?
    2. Are you a good decision maker?
    3. Are you organized and good with a to-do list?
    4. Are you a good communicator?

If at least 3 of the 4 of these answers are YES, you are likely a good candidate for our partial planning services! This is the perfect fit for the person that wants to be their own project manager, but needs the guidance and streamlining an expert can offer.

If there are multiple people involved in the planning (and you’re getting pulled in 10 different directions by parents or colleagues) or you need someone to be extremely proactive about the day-to-day management and decision making, you are likely a full planning candidate.

If you know your vision, already have a detailed Pinterest board, and are ready to put in a lot work to make sure your day is perfect, then you’re likely a candidate for DIY consulting or day-of services!

We can help you figure out which package is best for you and customize the inclusions to make sure it’s the perfect.

  • To assure a good fit we take the following steps:

    1. Initial quick-consult to introduce how we work, identify client needs, and answer initial questions
    2. Create a custom proposal to review in more detail with your assigned planner
    3. Vetting of any references or answering of additional questions to make sure the fit is perfect
    4. Full contract and 50% payment to begin service

  • We accept cash, checks, and app-based payments (Apple Pay, Venmo, Zelle). We can accept credit cards with a processing fee.

  • Every planning and event management company will charge differently based on their experience and the number of projects they take on each year. Many companies will charge a percent of your overall event budget (anywhere from 10% to 20%) and some are fee-based. Our process is to work with you to understand your vision and event needs, and this means we’ll write you a proposal with an estimate dollar amount based on the work you need done regardless of your total budget. We offer a variety of services and price points and are willing to work with you and your budget. We do not tie our pricing to your budget so we can ensure we’re able to have honest conversations with our clients and are able to help you prioritize where else you can splurge on your wedding day!

  • Unfortunately, that’s a very difficult question to answer! According to the Knot’s 2021 report, the average cost of a wedding nationwide was about $28,000. In Maine, the average cost of a wedding was estimated to be about $30,000. But there are SO many factors that impact your wedding and its costs - from the location and venue, to the number of guests, to your food and drink preferences. In most cases you shouldn’t spend more than 50% of your budget on your venue and catering (food and beverage). I like to think of it like you’re planning a trip. You wouldn’t want to spend all of your travel budget on flights and hotels and then have no money left to visit sights, buy souvenirs, or eat at local restaurants. Whether you’re planning a small wedding in your home or at an AirBNB, or you’re hosting 300 people in a resort ballroom, we’re here to help you!

  • Wedding markets can be VERY competitive! For top-tier venues like ocean-side resorts, architecturally significant buildings, and any venue with outdoor space and amazing views in prime months from May-October, we recommend starting your search over a year or more in advance. If you have the flexibility to alternative days to Saturdays, that will help with options.
